After missing our planned ferry to Governors Island just off the southern tip of Manhattan, all was not lost. It was a beautiful day to take shots of models Melanie and Sarah near the island’s abandoned U.S. Coast Guard housing and service buildings and on its newly developed Hills section.

With the city skyline across the water, and the merging of Governors Island’s history and future, it was the perfect backdrop for this portrait photography safari.
